Wondering what all the hype is about Facebook live?
Curious if you should be leveraging it for your business?
If you said, YES, then you're in for a treat!
I have been using and leveraging Facebook live for over a year and love it for so many reasons. All of which, I'm about to share with you in a hot second.
However, first things first, should you be using Facebook live? Of course, I fully believe in the power of video and going live in real-time; however, it's not mandatory to run your business. Can you get by without it? Sure absolutely; however, I just know there are so many benefits to using it that by not using it you're actually doing a disservice to your tribe that is following you online.
I'm feeling confident that after you see my 10 benefits to using Facebook live that you'll be convinced to start using it or leveraging it more than you already have. Buckle up and let's get down to business!
BUILDS THE KNOW, LIKE, AND TRUST FACTOR
I think this one goes without saying but I'll say it anyway. A video is the most powerful to deliver content so that you can content with your tribe.
Sharing your story via video = POWERHOUSE!
While on a livestream, you can nurture your tribe, build the know, like, and trust factor as well as build brand recognition, establish credibility, and position yourself as an authority figure, leader, and expert in the industry.
Kind of a big deal, no?
Keep in mind that people buy from those that they know, like, trust, and have connected with via a relationship. Video is a powerful way to nurture them and essentially speed up the process because they can connect with you as if they're sitting across the table from you.
IT'S REAL, RAW, AND UNEDITED
Say good-bye to the highlight reel and hello to the real, raw, unedited version of YOU! Gasp!
While that may or may not freak you out, it is another powerful way to connect with your tribe. They want to see your quirks, the sneak peeks into your life and business, behind the scenes, see you mess up, see you flourish, celebrate, and more. Truth is, they want to absorb as much of your REAL LIFE as much as possible.
You know how your Mom always told you as a kid to NEVER stare when driving by an accident. No, just me?
Ok, anyway, it's similar to that. Your tribe can't help but gawk at you when you go live! They listening, watching, observing your every move. Absorbing it and taking it all in. They're going to decide one of three things:
- They LOVE you!
- They think you're cool enough to follow but that's it.
- They HATE you.
The ones that LOVE you will not care if you show up 5 minutes after getting up in your robe, without brushing your teeth or hair, yell at the dogs or kiddo while mid-sentence to delivering some epic content, or while trying to make it through the livestream with a toddler climbing all over you for attention. Trust me, they'll just get it and appreciate that you're JUST LIKE THEM!
RANKED HIGHER WITH FACEBOOK THAT OTHER FORMS OF CONTENT
This one may be a surprise to you, but Facebook LOVES video, especially livestream! Facebook actually ranks video higher than any other form of content.
While the algorithm likes when you share Facebook original content, period. It rewards you more in "brownie point" as I like to call them in the algorithm when you host and share a Facebook live broadcast. They'll reward you by increasing the reach (aka the number of views) as well as recommend your page or group to others that may find it relevant based on the content and your current following.
Pretty cool, right?
Besides, who would want some extra help to drive traffic to their page or group and have it be ORGANIC growth? Um, no one! Every little bit helps.
POTENTIALLY INCREASES ENGAGEMENT ELSEWHERE
I don't know about you, but I have noticed that when people engage on my Facebook live videos they tend to follow me elsewhere. From there, they tend to also engage on other social media platforms. As a result, my other platforms engagement increases due to me building a relationship via my live video.
Can I confirm that this will happen all the time? Absolutely not, but I can share my experience and what I have noticed as a direct result of me building the know, like, and trust factor via Facebook live.
Test it out and see for yourself!
INCREASES YOUR SOCIAL REACH
Facebook will recommend your live video to help increase your reach. In addition, anytime someone engages with your video via a reaction, comment, or both, Facebook will give you "brownie points" towards the algorithm and award you yet again by referring your video to those that may find it relevant.
The best part is that it's all ORGANIC!
Now don't get me wrong, you're more than welcome to boost a livestream while live and pay for the extra exposure, but why not leverage the organic traffic as much as you can?
Doing a Facebook live saves so much TIME! Being a busy #momboss I have to leverage the time I have so that I can get more done but still make an impact. Think about how long it takes you to write up a blog post, newsletter, or even 5 days worth of content for Facebook groups? A couple of hours, maybe?
Heck, with Facebook live you can deliver an insane amount of content in 15-minutes!
By doing more Facebook live videos, I am able to free up my time so that I can focus on other areas of my business or powerfully serve my clients. In addition, I can repurpose that video into multiple forms of content which also saves me a ton of time and leads me into the next benefit.
ABILITY TO REPURPOSE INTO OTHER CONTENT
Did you know that from ONE 15-minute livestream that you can repurpose it into MULTIPLE forms of social media content? I mean it's a little insane in the membrane! There's so much that you can do with it and it allows you to save you more time from having to create all this extra content.
So what can you do with a saved Facebook live? Here are five ways you can repurpose it to give you an idea:
- Strip the audio and turn it into a podcast or audio training.
- Transcribe it into a blog post.
- Transcribe it into a newsletter.
- Pull out quotes and brand them for social media.
- Create an infographic based on the key points.
You see, there are LOTS of options and those five are just the tip of the iceberg!
I love to repurpose content and I want to be able to help you too. In my Resource Library, I have a PDF that outlines all the ways that you can repurpose a Facebook live (and a blog) into multiple forms of content. All you need to do is request access and download the How to Repurpose Content PDF by entering your information below.
FUTURE CONTENT IDEAS
When doing a Facebook live with an engaged audience it is pretty much a give-in that they'll ask questions. This is GOLDEN! It allows you to see what your tribe is struggling with, without you needing to ask by doing market research. They'll give you key insights into their struggles and in return, you get some epic content idea for future content marketing material. It's a win-win!
In addition, you can use how the describe their struggles within your marketing so that you can spruce up your copy and sell your shiny new program or a digital product like hot cakes that cater to their specific need. Totally off topic, but this is how you "get in their head" with your sales copy. Leverage it!
MARKET RESEARCH + FEEDBACK
Yes, Facebook live is a wonderful platform to leverage to gather market research for an upcoming project, freebie, program, event, and more. In addition, you can ask for feedback on something you're working on for your tribe. They'll feel like a VIP in the process and it'll help you gauge whether it'll be a massive hit or not.
Truth is, people love to feel like they're a part of something exclusive or special. By asking for feedback or gathering market research, this is one way you can make them feel important. In addition, you can also offer those that provided feedback something extra as a thank you for helping you out.
I feel this one is totally a no-brainer, but doing a Facebook live allows you to reach more people. Reaching more people means you're connecting, nurturing, and building the relationship from a cold audience to a paying client. As you "funnel" them through the relationship building process by nurturing them, some will eventually convert. That means sales are rolling in and the hard work (or not so hard work) has been paying off.
Pretty awesome, right?
Now you can't tell me that you don't think Facebook live is a powerhouse way to get insanely visible, build the know, like, and trust factor, as well as increase your sales. It totally is!
I hope this inspires you to start leveraging Facebook live more often within your business. You have a message and unique gifts to share with the world. Leverage the tools that are there to make an impact and create a legacy that you can be proud of!
